Practice Blogging

Welcome to our class blog. Here's your opportunity to practice commenting on a blog topic. Here's the topic:

Comfort food: Sometimes when you've had a rough day, and it's cold and wet outside, you just want to go home, get warm and eat some comfort food. My favourite is tuna casserole, with lots of cheese. What's yours?

My comfort food is also savoury, chicken pot pie. It reminds me of home.

Wow, comfort foods. There are so many but I will pick my staple comfort food: Cottage Cheese. I don't know why, but some people think I'm strange for enjoying it so much!

My comfort food has to be fettuchini alfredo, caesar salad, and maybe some garlic bread. :)
Or maybe some white chocolate!

I have a particular thing for cinnamon buns - the ones they used to have at UBC were especially good. Lots of butter and sugar, fresh baked everyday - mmm. But nowadays it's very hard to find any I really like. The ones from Solly's Bagels in Vancouver are pretty good, though.

My comfort food is similiar to Connie's, but not quite... a cup of hot tea and several pieces of blue cheese! (smoked cheddar will do in a pinch)

My idea of comfort food is a cup of strong black tea with a few pieces of good quality milk chocolate

Food is my comfort! But if narrowing it down I must I think whole grain toast with organic peanut butter (smooth or crunchy) along with a hot cup of black tea with milk, wins. Or maybe...mac and cheese...or maybe...dark chocolate...or maybe...

My mother in law makes something called samp. She's from South Africa and I think it's a type of corn. She makes a nice stew with samp, beef and tomatoes. Curl up on the couch with a nice hot bowl with some parmesan on top. Heavenly!

Mac and Cheese all the way! Unless my stomach is upset, then it is all about chicken noodle soup.

OK, this is really pathetic, but one comfort food I love and eat infrequently is oatmeal cookie dough! My grandmother's recipe is unbelievable and when it's hot and fresh - yumm. I must have a big glass of ice cold coke zero with it!

A more health choice, however, is macaroni and tomatoes with parmesan cheese and a big glass of ice cold coke zero!

My comfort food is something that is definitely not good for me. I love to eat gummy candies. They always make me feel like a kid again.

My favourite comfort foods would have to be shepherd's pie or lasagna (preferably on their own, but I'm sure I could happily eat both at the same time).

My favourite comfort food on a cold, rainy day is fresh oysters picked off the beach, lightly breaded and pan-fried in butter, served on toast with a liberal squeeze of lemon and a pinch of cayenne, accompanied by a mug of beer. Heaven!

Sadly, I've discovered that my long list of food allergies includes oysters and butter, so now I comfort myself with a thick, hearty beef stew, and beer bread still warm from the oven.

Hmmn... I've noticed that both of my selections involve beer. How unseemly for a future library employee. Perhaps I should have said I enjoy tea and crumpets with my imaginary cat.

My comfort food would have to be cereal. Specifically granola. there was this one brand that came in a bag, i think it was Rogers or something like that, that i used to eat all the time that i can't find in Prince George. With soy milk, even though my days of experimenting with veganism are over...

My comfort food this week has been freshly picked sun-warmed blackberries (and yes, my picking spots are closely guarded secrets).

My comfort foods are many; however, I would have to say that a hot bowl of ox-tail soup with fresh-baked bread (buttered, of course) is in my top 10.

Comfort food. Wow, loaded question. First off, I have to say that I probably have too many issues with food. Besides that, definitely the bread family. Warm cinnamon buns, fresh bread, doughnuts. Any kinda of fresh baked bread would make any cold day seem better.

In terms of comfort food, anything stewed with legumes on rice is preferred on a cold and wet day. Hearty foods tend to warm the body and sooth the mind, sometimes to the point of peaceful somnolence.

My comfort food is mashed potatoes. And ice cream doesn't hurt!

I would have to say that I find comfort in tea.

Chicken noodle soup, I'd say it is the best comfort food of all times. It is the best thing outside of a mothers hug to pick up when you are feeling down.

Seems like a very interesting blog.

And, after a long delay, my announcement on comfort food is stuffing and gravy. Mashed potatoes help, too, so do peas - and heck, mix them all together. But the stuffing is what sets it apart.
